SAINT-DÉSERT

Département : Saône-et-Loire

Blason de Saint-Désert

Official blason

Origin/meaning

The chief symbolizes the importance of viticulture for the village. The crenellated tower recalls the privilege granted in 1463 to Saint-Désert by Thibaut de Neufchatel, Marshal of Burgundy to strengthen the church. The other half shows the arms of the chapter of St. Vincent de Chalon which owned the lands of St. Désert.
