Origin/meaning :
The arms were first mentioned in the Armorial of the Bas-Rhin region from 1861. The arms are derived from the arms of the Counts of Lützenburg, who ruled the area until 1110 and ar ethus the oldest known Lords of Saint-Jean Saverne.
