SAINT-NOM-LA-BRETÈCHE

Département : Yvelines

Blason de Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche

Official blason

D'or à la fasce bretessée de sable, accompagnée en chef de trois quintefeuilles de sinople et en pointe d'un lion à la queue fourchue de gueules.

Origin/meaning

The chief shows three flowers for the large Marly Forest, which is partially situated in the municipality. The bar is a canting element ('bretessée') and the base shows a lion taken from the arms of Amaury VI De Montfort, lord of the village in the 13th century.
