Origin/meaning

The colors blue, yellow and red are taken from the arms of the Mortemer family, Lord of Salles, Genté and Ars in the 1000s.

The 3 trees represent the highest point of the town. Excavations carried out between 1971 and 1974 by Gaston Grégor allowed the discovery of the remains of a Roman camp and a prehistoric site on that spot. . The still represents the distillation of Cognac because according to legend, Cognac was developed in Angles.
