Il leone poggia i piedi sulla cima di due monti. Lo scudo è contornato da una cornice arabescata, presentante alla sommità due fiorellini. Tutto lo scudo, infine, è sormontato da una corona.

The lion is the symbol of St. Marc, the local patron saint, holding a book with thephrase : Pax tibi Marce Evangelista meus ("Peace to you, Mark, my evangelist!" ).
