Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 10, 2000.

The way bend symbolises the Ave river in the parish. The lion is the arms of the city of Santo Tirso, of which the parish is the heart. The golden sun symbolises the magnificence of benefactors who contributed to the growth of the parish, especially the Earl of St. Benedict.
