Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on ??

Satakunta was one of the oldest regions of Finland and was merged in 1648 to form the County of Tuku and Pori (since 1809 a province), which in 1997 was merged to the new province of Western Finland. In 2009 Satakunta was re-established as a region.

The arms are the historical arms from the 17th century.
