Origin/meaning

The arms show the local sea-castle, built by the Crusaders in the 13th century, as well as a Phoenician ship, Sidon being an important Phoenician harbour. In chief there is the cedar of Lebanon, and the text Lebanese Republic. In the base the text Saïda Municipality.
