Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted on October 10, 1991.
The arms symbolise the geographical situation in the county; the river Saale that runs into the Elbe and the three cities in the county; Schönebeck, Barby and Calbe. The arms are based on the old arms of the Calbe district.
