Official blazon

  • (de) Schild von Blau und Silber gespalten. Rechts ein goldener Engel mit Waage und über dem Haupt erhobenem Flammenschwert, auf gestürztem, schwarzem, rotbezungtem Drachen stehend; links drei nach rechts zeigende blaue Spitzen.
  • (it) Partito: nel 1° azzurro all'angelo tenente con la mano destra sopra il capo una spada fiammeggiante e con la sinistra una bilancia a bilico, il tutto d'oro; l'angelo poggia i piedi su un drago abbattuto di nero linguato di rosso; nel 2° d'argento ai tre grembi del primo con la punta verso la partizione.

Origin/meaning

The arms are granted August 10, 1967.

The arms show in the right part the patron saint of the former Allerengelnberg monastery in the village, St. Michael. In the left part the arms of the Lords of Schlandersberg (see Schlanders), who also ruled Schnals.
