SCHÖNBRUNN

State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Wunsiedel
Incorporated into : 1975 Wunsiedel

Wappen von Schönbrunn (Wunsiedel)/Arms (crest) of Schönbrunn (Wunsiedel)
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted in 1439 by Prince-Elector Friedrich I of Brandenburg.

The arms were covered with a helmet and the crest of the Hohenzollern dynasty, a dog's rump. All later seals and images show the same arms, which were officially confirmed by King Ludwig I of Bayern in 1836. The helmet and crest are still sometimes used.

The quartered field shows the arms of the Hohenzollern dynasty. The left half shows a canting well (Brunnen).
