Arms : Barry wavy of eight argent and azure, an ancient ship Or, the sail gules, flying from the main mast a pennant argent charged with a cross also gules, in chief a merchantile crown Or between two open books proper, edged and bound also Or.
Crest: On a wreath of the colours, A sea dog sejant azure, finned gold, supporting with the dexter fore paw a torch also gold, enflamed proper.
Motto: Salo extendere scientiam
