SELFOSS
Incorporated into : 1998 Árborg
Origin/meaning :
The arms show the bridge over the Hvitá river, as the village started to develop after the first bridge was completed in the early 20th century. Above the bridge is a seagull, below a stylised fish, symbol for the salmon in the river.
