Un scut tăiat printr-o diagonală suprapusă de o bandă de aur, încărcată cu două buchete formate din floarea-soarelui și un spic de grâu, interpuse de o retortă albă. În partea superioară a scutului, pe câmp de azur, este reprezentată o construcție religioasă, de argint, dotată cu trei ferestre și o poartă închisă. În partea inferioară, pe fond roșu, se află un pergament desfășurat, pe care se distinge scrierea veche, validat cu sigiliu, totul în culoare naturală. Scutul este timbrat de o coroană murală de argint, formată din șapte turnuri crenelate.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on September 30, 1998.

The tower, taken from the old coat of arms of the town, reminds of the building founded by Matei Basarab, and of the urban activity carried out over the years by the inhabitants.

The parchment suggests the first documentary attestation of the locality (1614).

The retort, sunflower and wheat ears highlight the local economy and the important place it has in the production of oil in the country, as well as in the chemical and food fertilizer industry.
