SLOVENSKE KONJICE

Coat of arms (crest) of Slovenske Konjice
Official blazon
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The white horse is derived from a local story. In the time of dragons there lived a nasty one in the mountain overlooking the town Slovenske Konjice. As usually it demanded all sorts of items, like food and girls to spare the town. One day a knight rode in the town on a white horse. After hearing about the situation he engaged the dragon and defeated it. Ever since the white horse is used as a symbol for the town.
