Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on November 10, 1950.

Both the silver and blue barry field and the ermine lion in the crest come from the Arms of the Salisbury family. The crossed keys are taken from the arms of the City of Peterborough. The motto also comes from the Salisbury family.
