Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on MArch 13, 1989.

In the arms of this association, now known as Edutrust, a hardy thorn tree typical of Namibia appears in conjunction with a triquetra, which can be used in educational, as well as a religious context.

The crest is a stylized Welwitschia mirabilis, a pre-historic plant encountered only in the Namib desert from which Namibia takes its name. It is accompanied by two shepherd's crooks to symbolise the teachers' duty to act as a good shepherd to their flock.
