The Lion passant further recalls European servie during World War II and is a symbol of courage and strength. Gold also denotes excellence. The Mural crown inidcates World War II service in the Rhineland. The Gauntlet and Sword symbolises unit forces attacking and vanquishing Nazism in World War II Germany.
