Official blazon

Shield: Per Gules and Tenné, a pale Celeste edged Argent, a Horse passant, of the last and on its back ablanket Azure (DArk blue) bearing a lightning bolt and key, ward upward in saltire, surmounted by a tower Gris, in chief three mullets of six fesswise Argent.
Crest: That for the regiments and separated battalions of the New York Army National Guard: From a wreath Argent and Gules, the full rigged ship "Half Moon" Proper.
Motto: Versatile.

Distinctive Unit Insignia, Description: A Silver color metal ande enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Per Gules and Tenné, a pale Celeste edged Argent, a Horse passant Argent and on its back a blanket Azure (Dark Blue); in chief three mullets of six in fess of fourth. Attached below th device is a Black scroll inscribed "VERSATILE" in silver. The Insignia is to be made in pairs.

Origin/meaning

Red denoted determination. Orange alludes to ambition. Light Blue suggests constancy. The Horse symbolises readiness for service. Dark blue is the colour of Infantry. The Symbols on the blanket alludes to the Companies that makes up the Battalion; the Lightning for the Signal company, the Key for the Military Intelligence Company and the Tower for the Engineer Company. The Stars si from the Coat of Arms of the French Explorer Sieur de la Salle and signify the Battalion's lineage to the predecessor the 152nd Engineer Battalion. They also symbolises the City of Buffalo, the home station of the Battalion.

The Coat of Arms and Distinctive Unit Insignia was both approved on 24 August 2007.
