Official blazon

Shield: Argent, on a bend Azure voided of the field, between in chief a double warded key bendwise, wards downward and issuant from base a tower Sable, lighted Gris (Grebe Gray), a lightning bolt Gules.
Crest: From a wreath Argent and Azure, between a pair of wings Or, five arrows four Proper, one of the third, arrowhead Gules, bound together by two ribbons of the last, the second ribbon garnished Vert.
Motto: Firmus vigilo validus (Reliable, Vigil and Strong).

Distinctive Unit insignia, Description: A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in width overall blazoned as follows: Argent (Silver Gray) on a bend Azure surmounted of another of the field charged with a lightning bolt Gules between, in chief a double warded key bendwise Sable, wards to sinister and surmounting a tower issunat from dexter base of the last lighted ARgent (Silver Gray). Attached below Blue scroll inscribed "FIRMUS, VIGILO, VALIDUS" in Silver.

Origin/meaning

The Tower symbolises the Engineer component, The Key symbolises the Military Intelligence and Military Police components. The Lightning symbolises the Signal component. The Wings in the Crest symbolises the Brigade's Mission. Four Arrows symbolises the Campaign participation - World Wars I and II, Armed Forces Expeditions and Sothwest Asia. The Fifth Middle Arrow symbolises Vietnam service. The Red Ribbons symbolises the Meritorious Unit Commendation awarded to the Battalion.

The Coat of Arms and Distinctive Unit Insignia, was both approved on 13 April 2007.
