Distinctive Unit Insignia, Description: A silver color device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in width overall blazoned as follows: Per fesse embattled, the chief per pale Tenné and Celeste, the base Azure all edged Argent, in dexter chief a cock to sinister of the like, eyed, crested and langued of the field, in sinister chief a dragon rampant also Argent, eyed and langued of the first; issuant from base a double-bladed axe Silver Gray, between the blades a billet bendy bendy Argent and Azure. Enclosed by a Dark blue motto scroll bipartite at the bottom inscribed "ONE TEAM, ONE FIGHT" in Silver.

Origin/meaning

The Dark Blue color is traditionally used by Infantry Units. The Cock on a Orange Field symbolises the Signal Element of the Battalion. The Dragon on on the Blue Field alludes to the Military Intelligence Component. The Embattlement highlights the Engineers of the former 3rd Infantry Division Engineer Brigade from which the Battalion was formed. The four embattlements indicates the 4th Brigade. The Battle Axe symbolises the Military Police Function to conduct security operations to provide law and order and process Ememy Prisoners of War/Civilian Internees. The Billet symbolises the Insignia of the 3rd Infantry Division.

The Coat of Arms and Distinctive Unit Insignia was both approved on 14 September 2005.
