Origin/meaning :
The arms were officially granted on March 6, 1967.

The lion is the lion of the State and DIocese of Bamberg. In 1190 Otto II of Bamberg founded a inn for pilgrims in the area. This inn developed to a large Abbey and the crossed crescent is taken from the arms of the abbey Spital am Pyhrn.
