Wrong en Dekklede: Goud en groen.

Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on June 19, 1989.
The springbok head in the crest alludes to the name of this town which is the principal local authority in Namaqualand, in the north-western Cape Province. Namaqualand is famous for its carpet of wild flowers in spring, especially after good rains, hence the flower in base. There are alluvial diamond diggings at the mouth of the Orange River which forms the northern border of Namaqualand, hence the diamonds in the arms. The mountains of Namaqua land are represented by the chief dancetty.
