The oldest seal dates from the late 18<sup>th</sup> century and shows some stones in a meadow, making it a canting image (Stein=stone, Wiese=meadow). This image was used until 1937 when the present arms were devised and granted. The arms show in the upper right quarter the canting stone, and in the lower quarter the Rodach river.
