STEMSHORN

State : Niedersachsen
District (Kreis) : Diepholz
Samtgemeinde : Samtgemeinde Altes Amt Lemförde

Stemshorn.jpg

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted on September 17, 1986.

The arms are based on the arms of the medieval Lords of Stemshorn, see image below. Both the two eel-forks and the colours are derived from the arms of the family.

To distinguish the arms from those of the family, a canting horn was added.
