STORE MAGLEBY

Region : Hovedstaden
Amt (until 2007) : København
Incorporated into : 1974 Dragør

Arms of Store Magleby

Origin/meaning

The arms are known since 1648. Store Magleby was founded by the Dutch in the 17th century and its main sources of income were sailing and fishing. The anchor thus was an appropriate symbol. On the old seals of the town often an angel was used as a supporter.

The arms are, in different colours, now used by the new Dragør municipality.
