Official blazon

  • (1819) Een schild dwars door midden gedeeld waarvan het bovenste van zwart beladen met drie visschen en de regter bovenhoek van de letter S, alles van goud, en het onderste gedeelte van zilver.
  • (1838) Dwarsstreepen, van zwart koleur op wit koleur de eerste voerende dry gouden visschen dwars geplaetst, het vak ter regter zyde voerende de letter S insgelyks geplaetst.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 28, 1819 and confirmed on June 18, 1838.

The arms are those of the Van Volden family. The family owned the village in the 18th century. To distinguish the arms from the arms of Onze-Lieve-Vrouwe-Lombeek, a letter S was added.
