In geteiltem Schild oben in Gold ein schreitender roter Löwe, unten in Blau ein silberner Fisch.

Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted in 1906 and granted in 1930. The arms are based on the oldest seal of the city, dating from the early 17^th century. The lion in the upper half is derived from the arms of the Counts of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Freudenberg, who acquired the city in 1611. The lower half shows a fish, as fishing in the Murr at the time was of importance for the town.
