SULZTAL AN DER WEINSTRASSE

State : Steiermark
District : Leibnitz

Sulztalw.jpg

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on 20 April 1998.

The name "Sulz" means a special type of healing spring, a "Säuerling". The name as such is connected with salt.
The wavy pale symbolises the (now vanished) spring, the vine stocks the long tradition of viticulture (and the good local wines, of course). The Weinstraße is a special wine-route in Southern and Western Styria.
