District/county (județ) : Iași

Stema Târgu Frumos

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 5, 2005.

The eagle is the bird that has been on the seal of the locality since the 17th century.

The red field refers to the name of the city, as it appears in the old Slavonic documents (Crasna), which translates as both beautiful and red.

The wolf represents the coat of arms of the old land of Cârligătura, abolished in 1834, which had its administrative residence in Târgu Frumos for 4 centuries.

The mural crown with 3 crenellated towers means that the town has the status of a city.
