History: Raised in 1702 as Lucas's Regiment which became 34th Foot in 1751 and in 1755 as the 57th Foot (55th Foot in 1757). These two Regiments in 1881 become the 1st and 2nd Battalions of The Border Regiment. Which in 1959 was amalgamated with the [[King's Own Royal Regiment (Lancaster), British Army]] to form [[The King's Own Royal Border Regiment, British Army]].

THE BORDER REGIMENT, BRITISH ARMY

History: Raised in 1702 as Lucas's Regiment which became 34th Foot in 1751 and in 1755 as the 57th Foot (55th Foot in 1757). These two Regiments in 1881 become the 1st and 2nd Battalions of The Border Regiment. Which in 1959 was amalgamated with The King's Own Royal Regiment (Lancaster), British Army to form The King's Own Royal Border Regiment, British Army.
