The thistles (the national flower of Scotland) and the cross held by St. Andrew (the patron saint of Scotland) are common devices in badges of highland infantry. “QUEEN’S OWN CAMERON HIGHLANDERS OF CANADA” is a form of the regimental title. The Motto translates as "Ready".
The Blazon of the badge was confirmed by the canadian Heraldic Authority on February 15, 2008.
