History: Raised in 1661 as the Tangier Troop of Horse becoming in 1690 The Royal Regiment of Dragoons. In 1969 amalgamated with The Royal Horse Guards (The Blues), British Army to form The Blues and Royals (Royal Horse Guards and 1st Dragoons), British Army
