Origin/meaning

The Crown represents service to the Sovereign, while the shield from the arms of the province of New Brunswick refers to the regiment’s home in that province. “ROYAL NEW BRUNSWICK REGIMENT” is a form of the regimental title and “SPEM REDUXIT” is the motto of the regiment and of the province. The Motto translates as "Hope restored".

The Blazon of the badge was confirmed by the Canadian Heraldic Authority on June 20, 2008.
