(Badge) |
(Regimental Colour) |
Official blazon
Badge: A grenade Sable enflamed Gules and Argent.
Origin/meaning
The grenade is a historic symbol shared with a number of British regiments. It represents the ordnance used in the campaigns for which the regiment is famous, and it is also symbolic of the power of the Grenadiers as a fighting force. Red and white are the official colours of the regiment and of Canada.
The badge was approved by the Canadian Heraldic Authority on January 15, 2004.
