Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on May 13, 2013.

The arms are based on the arms of the city of Toledo. Until 2013 the province genrally used only the arms of the city with the two royal columns as provincial arms. In the new arms the arms of Catille-Leon are divided with a crown. This crown refers to the ancient Kingdom of Toledo. The royal columns ramined.
