TREFFELSTEIN

State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Cham
Additions : 1978 Biberbach

Wappen von Treffelstein

Official blazon

Über silbernem Schildfuß mit drei roten Leisten, schräggeteilt von Gold und Schwarz, oben ein grüner Zweig mit drei Blättern, unten ein fünfspeichiges silbernes Rad.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on February 25, 1983.

The arms combine elements of four families that ruled the Treffelstein estate during the centuries. The black-golden division is taken from the arms of the Rornstetter family (ruled 1454-1505). The wheel is taken from the arms of the Berlachingen family (1585 until mid 17th century). The leaf is taken from the arms of the Von Reisach family (1759-early 19th century). The base is taken from the arms of the von Sazenhofen family (1679-1730s).
