Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on February 1, 1994.

The indented chief symbolises the formerly important Schneeberg castle near the village. The base shows a geographical feature, the end moraine of a large glacier near the village. The colours are derived from the arms of the Lords of Säben, who lived at the Schneeberg castle in late medieval times.
