Official blazon
Portuguese Escudo de verde, ponte pênsil assente em dois torreões adossados nos flancos e movente de ponta ondada de prata e azul de quatro burelas; em chefe, roda dentada entre dois ramos de quatro espigas de centeio, com os pés passados em aspa, tudo de ouro e realçado de negro, atado de prata. Coroa mural de prata de cinco torres. Listel branco com a legenda a negro, em maiúsculas : “ TROFA “.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 19, 2000.

The arms show the local bridge, a typical landmark for the town. The base represents the different rivers in the municipality, the Rio Ave, Rio Mamoa, Rio Covelas and Rio Aldeia.

The chief shows symbols for agriculture and industry.
