Un scut triunghiular cu marginile rotunjite, tăiat de un brâu undat de argint. În partea superioară, în câmp roșu, se află două fulgere de aur, poziționate cel din dreapta în bandă, cel din stânga în bară. În partea inferioară, în câmp albastru, se află un mănuchi de cinci spice de grâu de aur. Scutul este timbrat de o coroană murală de argint cu trei turnuri crenelate.

Wheat ears are one of the main occupations of the inhabitants, agriculture.

The lightning symbolizes the economic activity of the locality, represented by the two industrial objectives - the Turceni Hydropower Plant and the Thermal Power Plant, which produce electricity.

The wavy bar represents the Jiu river and the Jilț brook, which cross the locality.

The mural crown with three crenellated towers means that the town has the status of a city.
