Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on 9 May 2012.
The saltire is the symbol of Scotland, the books are symbols for learning. The compass rose indicates that the university is all over Scotland. The 13 hazel leaves in the bordure refer to the 13 campuses of the university.
