Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on November 19, 1599 by Margrave Georg Friedrich of Brandenburg-Ansbach.
The arms show the arms of Hohenzollern (from which the Margraves descended) and the canting swan (Schwane). The arms also appeared on the first seal, which dates from the same time. The arms were confirmed in 1860 by King Maximilian II of Bayern.
The arms by Hupp in the Kaffee Hag albums +/- 1925 |
