UST-KAMCHATSKY RAYON (Усть-Камчатский район)

Federal subject : Kamchatka Krai

Arms of Ust-Kamchatsky Rayon

Official blazon

Щит пересечён; вверху, в червлёном поле - курящаяся серебряная сопка, сопровождаемая двумя малыми вершинами того же металла; внизу, в лазоревом поле - золотой, бьющий хвостом кит.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on April 2, 2003.

The arms show the local landscape, with in the upper half the largest of the many volcanoes in Kamchatka (Klyuchevskaya Sopka), and in the base a whale. The whale is the main figure of the historical coat of arms of the Nizhny-Kamchatsk Maritime region of the Irkutsk governorship, approved on October 26, 1790.
