VÖRDEN

State : Nordrhein-Westfalen
District (Kreis) : Höxter
Incorporated into : 1970 Marienmünster

Wappen von Vörden (Marienmünster)/Arms (crest) of Vörden (Marienmünster)
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were never granted, but have been used since the 18th century.

The arms were first mentioned in the Paderborn roll of arms from the 18th century. The description mentions that the saint is St. Nicholas, but the patron saint of Vörden is St. Kilianus, so it is likely that it is the latter saint in the arms.
