VADU IZEI

District/county (județ) : Maramureș

Stema Vadu Izei

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on March 23, 2016.

The wolf's head refers to the old name of the town. The wavy bar represents the Iza river, which gives the current name of the locality.

The coiled rope represents the rope of life, and the cross inside symbolizes the four cardinal points. All these elements together represent the Passover taken to the church, the spear or the steward who was placed in front of the bride and groom at the wedding and were used on the spoon, sealer and dowry box.

The mural crown with a crenellated tower means that the locality has the rank of commune.
