Company info

Jac. Veen was a wholesaler in butter, margarine, fats and cheese based in Medemblik, the Netherlands. I have no further information on the company.

Album

The album was issued in 1952 and the stamps could be collected with Veca margarine, one of the brands of the company. The idea was to issue albums for all provinces, but only one album has been published as far as known. The images were based in style on the Koffie Hag albums, but reference to those albums is lacking.

The album describes 6 arms per 2 pages, with on the left pages the description and some history of the arms, and on the right the 6 images. Image 107, Wieringermeer, is empty as this new municipality did not yet have arms (granted 1954). An example of a text page is shown below:

Author of the texts was S.J. van der Molen and the album was printed by N. Miedema & Co in Leeuwarden.
