The name Velkký Luh (German Groß loh) comes from the old German word ′′Lohe′′ indicating grove, but also wetland and the Czech word ′′luh′′ has the same meaning. Therefore the shield of the emblem is logically green, also, as the municipality is largely covered in forests and meadows. | |||
