German In achtfach von Schwarz und Silber geteiltem Schildbord, von Schwarz und Silber und Blau zweimal geteilt, oben ein wachsender rotbewehrter und -bezungter goldener Löwe, in der Mitte fünf schwarze Bollen (Kugeln) 2:1:2, unten ein rotbewehrter silberner Adler.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on December 20, 1973.

The arms show the arms of the three main rulers in the region; the lion from the Dukes of Pfalz-Zweibrücken, the balls (in inverted colours) of the Counts of Sickingen and the eagle for the Counts of Leiningen. The bordure is a common symbol for a Verbandsgemeinde.
