VESILAHTI

Region : Pirkanmaa
Former province : 1997-2009 Länsi-Suomi (until 1997 Häme)

Vesilahti Kuntavaakuna / Kommunvapen

Official blazon

Hopea-punahalkoisen kilven oikeassa kentässä punainen avain, sen vasemmassa kentässä hopeinen kultavaruksinen kurki, jonka päälaki on punainen ja pyrstön sulat mustapäiset.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on March 29, 1951.

The key is the symbol of St. Peter, the patron saint of the local church. The crane is a canting element for the Kurki family (kurki means crane), an important noble family, which originated from the municipality.
