Official blazon

Escut caironat: de sinople, una espasa flamejada d'argent guarnida d'or acompanyada al cap d'una balança de braços iguals d'or amb els balançons penjant a banda i banda de l'espasa; el peu d'or, 3 faixes viperades de sable. Per timbre una corona mural de poble.

Origin/meaning

These arms have been officially granted on 14th January 1985.

The scales and the flaming sword are the attributes of St. Michael, the patron saint of the village. Vila-sana, formerly named Utxafava, belonged until 1935 to Castellnou de Seana, that was part of the barony of Bellpuig, ruled by the Anglesolas, whose arms (dantelly Or and Sable) are shown at the base of the arms.
